MY FOOD RECIPES

One of the things that I enjoy the most besides art is: FOOD, I love preparing dishes that take time and make them special, the truth is I don't cook much since my diet is based on food that requires almost no preparation or cooking, but when I make a dish  I love the whole process. I have my favorite home made dishes and they are so special, I like to experiment adding extra things or switching ingredients because I prefer to avoid milk and some flours.

So here I will be sharing also my special recipes and I know you will like it, because who does not like homemade delicious food? If you follow my recipes please share your thoughts.

GRAPHIC DESIGNER FROM IADA

I have a degree in Graphic Design, I studied at IADA, its acronym stands for Institute of Architecture, Design and Art.

In this blog I never exposed myself as much as a designer, rather as an artist or creative, but yes friends, I have been a graphic designer since 2006.

Although I do not do many designs for clients, probably because I have not promoted that service, I tell you that from time to time clients come to me looking for a logo or design.

Usually as an artist I do what I want, working as a designer is doing exactly what the client wants, of course, giving ideas and suggestions for a good result, but in the end the designer ends up as the client wants and that's not bad. I love having happy customers even if I end up doing something totally out of my comfort zone as long as the product is aimed at something that resonates with me and doesn't cause me conflict.

Some time I was asked to make an image about a video game called Hitman, it is a video game of pure killing and violence, for which I had to let it go. I think it goes against the values that I promote with my art and my work, and although as a designer I embrace many ideas and I am open-minded, my work ethic is also quite strong.

I have made covers for books, logos for various services, branding and social media, but I never made public or developed a catalog showing my work as a designer, perhaps because my main driving force was always to position myself as a visual artist.

The reason why I return to this blog is also to start sharing that lost part of my work as a graphic designer, so from time to time you will be looking at some of the work that I did for my clients.

Welcome to that facet of mine! I never kept files of my work, I have only a few that I found digging through old emails and that I share to give you an idea of what I have done for some clients in U.S, Spain and Mexico

It is always wonderful to create to help!

PAINTING LIKE BOB ROSS ON PRESSED LEAVES

Hello! I share 5 painted leaves that I painted following some Bob Ross tutorials, this as part of the 2021 annual activity of the November leaves. You can see all my painted leaf work at @naturalartistic IG account. I have painted on natural leaves since 2015 and it has become one of my favorite canvases.

Last year I painted a daily leaf with one theme per day, this year I preferred to do something more sporadic as it was very tiring and I have to occupy myself with other activities. The tribute to Bob Ross was a very nice practice and I hope to do more landscapes soon.

Also I have filmed videos about the painting process and the 5 videos are posted on my Youtube channel, here my favorite...

BEYOND VINCENT VAN GOGH

Inside the marvelous world of Vincent. One of my favorite painters ever and with the one I identify a lot because he was also a nature lover. He saw the world in a very special and deep way. He deserved all the fame and glory during his staying on this planet, sadly was not like this. I hope his soul can feel all the happiness he have created with his amazing work.
🌻💛💚💙🌻.

COCONUTS

This week I painted some coconuts for the paintingfood challenge, the original photograph has not much colors, so it was difficult to extract colors, but at the same time it was an advantage since I was able to select my own range. I love to intensify the colors that are there but we don't see.

THE SPARKS

The Sparks Brothers ✨⚡️✨ I just spent a morning doing this illustration. ðŸ¤©
2 weekends ago I saw the documentary of The Sparks Brothers and Wow! Why I never knew about them after all these years, I mean, this band stared during the 70’s and still active! I absolutely enjoyed the documentary and now of course I have a lot of songs. I could not pick a favorite song because they have really amazing work. I truly admire their career because they have been loyal to what they most love despite all the struggling and all these years: MUSIC. Also I think they are a cool example of brotherhood. If you never have heard of them I would suggest you to start listening “This town ain’t big enough for the both of us” if you can see the documentary first, before listening any song it will be a full experience, do yourself a favor.

CUTIE AND BOBA TEA

Once I started to illustrate in digital, I can stay there for a while because it is faster and more practical, plus the results are always interesting. This time I painted a tangerine, but I call them cuties because that's how I saw them labeled in the store. The tangerine seemed beautiful to paint, I especially wanted to see how the skin would look, with all those textures so difficult for me to capture, but it was more satisfying than I thought.

I also painted a boba tea as part of the weekly food painting activity, my favorite of the two is the tangerine of course!

PRETZEL AND HONEYPOT

A few weeks ago I started to practice a challenge to paint food, I think I had never painted food or at least it is not one of my subjects to paint, however I have enjoyed it very much, I love to extract the colors to the maximum and to give a twist of color to the original reference image.
