IMBOLC AND THE INNER FIRE

 

Hi all! Here I go with my first post of the year and the truth is, I did not expect it to be what I share with you, but this is how my life goes. I will not go into details but I am working on my solar plexus (my fire) and curiously, inadvertently it has been connected to my first job of the year: IMBOLC. I wanted to make an illustration to commemorate Imbolc, the Celtic celebration. At the beginning was a very different portrait till all ended after I designed this illustration inspired by the key elements: the snake, the snowdrop flower, the fire, and the swans. During Imbolc the beginning of pregnancy, fertility and fire are celebrated. "The festival is a festival of light, reflecting the increasingly long days and the hope of spring."

So I started a design and all started like this...

Was fun to paint with watercolor a self portrait for Imbolc. It’s funny all the behind this piece but also very long to explain, long story short: it’s all about the inner fire and the rebirth, the power of the new and the end of the old. But this watercolor came with a very hard test for me just at the beginning of the year. I wish for my flame to burn and shine for ever. Magic cool thing: it was painted with water from the first snow of the year, just perfect for Imbolc.

ILLUSTRATED NATAL CHARTS

Happy new year 2022! 

It has definitely been a few months that have gone very fast and I and I did not have the opportunity to update my blog, but here I am! and I want to share with you the last works I did during 2021

Since a few years ago I started to paint natal charts with unique galaxies/nebulas, I love everything astronomical and astrological so I started this beautiful project of making personalized galaxies as well as giving a little information about it with each illustration.

THE WHISPER

Wip. Watercolor, these last days I have been a little lost in what I want to do, there are many things that I like but I have struggled to land and start a conception, I wanted to come back to portraits but I also want to work with animals and at the same time with a style more ethereal ... and so every day without really being able to say "this" so today I decided to start something different to not feel myself so rusty. I will be working in the mornings while my daughter goes to school, I enjoy the quiet so much, to apply the color slowly and with my eyes almost glued to the paper. “The whisper” Finally I have finished this illustration, im very happy with the final look, and I have enjoyed this style so much. I hope to create more illustrations with this lovely mood. Inspired in the beautiful work of @agnieszka_lorek 💫🎨

Estos últimos días he estado un poco perdida en cuanto a lo que quiero hacer, hay muchas cosas que me gustan pero he batallado para aterrizar y empezar una concepción debido tal vez a que he descansado poco y no he tenido tiempo para mi, he querido regresas a los retratos pero también quiero trabajar con animales y a la vez con un estilo más etéreo...y así todos los días sin realmente poder decir “esto” así que hoy decidí empezar algo diferente para no sentirme tan oxidada. Estaré trabajando por las mañanas mientras mi hija se va a la escuela, disfruto tanto la quietud, aplicar el color despacio y con los ojos casi pegados al papel.
